Discover how you can make a positive difference through our new Anti-Racism e-Learning module
These short, accessible modules gives us the opportunity to explore racism in modern Wales and reflect on everyday actions that foster equity and understanding in the way we work and support others. It’s a chance to develop new insights, grow in our roles, and help create a workplace and services that are inclusive everyone, helping us deliver on our Vale 2030 vision of Strong Communities with a Bright Future.
Many colleagues have already started exploring the modules, and the early feedback is that they are thought-provoking, practical and easy to dip into.
Here’s an overview of what’s included:
- Module 1: Understanding racism in modern Wales, unconscious bias, and microaggressions
- Module 2: How language and terminology have evolved, and why words matter
- Module 3: The impact of racism in social care and practical steps to make a positive difference
- Module 4: Considering cultural perspectives and inclusive practices in care settings
- Module 5: Stereotypes, misinformation, and how to take learning forward into everyday practice
Modules 1-2 gives everyone a shared foundation, helping us align with our values and build confidence in having open, respectful conversations.
Modules 3–5 build on this learning and are tailored for social care, focusing on sector-specific practice and guidance.
A Manager’s Guide is also available to help lead conversations and embed learning within teams.
