New Translation Tool 'Cyfieithu Cyflym' Now Available for Staff

What is Cyfieithu Cyflym?

Cyfieithu Cyflym is a digital translation tool recently launched for Vale of Glamorgan Council staff. It can return translations within a few minutes, helping to remove delays in projects and communication, as well as saving the Council money.

Cyfieithu Cyflym can be used to translate emails, letters, social media posts, articles, minutes, agendas, and more!

Who can use Cyfieithu Cyflym?

The tool is available to all Council staff with good to fluent Welsh language skills. Users have to proofread any translations returned through Cyfieithu Cyflym so they need to have good enough Welsh language understanding skills to be able to proofread.

We are asking for all staff to complete the Welsh Skills Assessment– this is how we are identifying potential users for Cyfieithu Cyflym. 

We will then invite staff with the appropriate Welsh language skills to complete a short training session on iDev before granting access to Cyfieithu Cyflym.

You can choose to use Cyfieithu Cyflym for your own work or on behalf of your team – this may depend on your team’s workload and Welsh language translation requirements.
