Staffnet is Moving to SharePoint – A Fresh Start for Our Intranet
We’re excited to share that our intranet – currently known as Staffnet – is getting a much-needed refresh and will be moving to SharePoint soon
Staffnet has become increasingly difficult to manage. It’s split across two sites, internal Staffnet which hosts policies and external Staffnet+ which was created for frontline colleagues to access latest news articles and wellbeing information.
Both Staffnet and Staffnet+ contain outdated pages, and host documents that could be stored more effectively. To put it in to context there are over 1,000 pages on Staffnet and almost 50% of them are never visited and have not been updated in over two years.
This move to SharePoint will help us:
-
Modernise the site’s look and feel
-
Make it easier to find what you are looking for
-
Improve how content is managed
-
Ensure documents and pages stay up to date
Progress so far
Our intranet is owned and maintained by a large network of content editors across the Council and we’ve already kicked things off with an initial session to explore what’s coming in more detail. We’ll continue working together in further sessions to help shape the new site and support our content editors in confidently managing their content going forward.
We’ll keep you updated as the project progresses.
We’d love your input
We also want to make sure everyone who helps to maintain our intranet has a chance to input into the process. If you have any feedback on the existing sites or suggestions for the new intranet, you can share these with us using the form below.
Intranet Feedback
We’ll also shortly be launching a competition for staff to name our new intranet. Watch this space for more details.
Thanks for your support as we work to create a better, more user-friendly intranet experience.
