Staffnet Update: Introducing the New Site Structure

To follow-on from the announcement that the new Staffnet will launch on Monday 2 February, we’d like to highlight some of the changes designed to make finding information quicker, easier, and more intuitive. 

One of the biggest improvements is the new site structure, which is built around how colleagues actually search for and use information day to day. Here’s a closer look at what you can expect when the site goes live. 

Smarter Search and Easier Navigation 

Finding what you need should never slow down your work. Staffnet includes: 

• A simplified, more accurate search function so you can quickly locate the right page, document, or tool. 
• Related links on every page, helping you move naturally between connected topics without needing to return to the homepage. 
• Built‑in review intervals so all content remains up to date, accurate, and relevant. This ensures that the information you rely on is checked regularly and maintained by the appropriate service areas. 

These improvements are all designed to help us work more efficiently across the organisation. 

Three Clear Sections to Guide You 

Staffnet is organised into three easy-to-navigate areas that reflect how colleagues use the site: 

1. Your Vale – Self‑Service Tools and Everyday Tasks 
This area brings together the practical tools and information you need most often—everything from payslips and annual leave to booking rooms, IT support, and HR forms. It’s designed to give you quick access to the things that help you get on with your day. 

 

2. Our Vale – Organisation‑Wide Policies and Information 
This section includes the essential information that underpins how we work as a council: corporate policies, governance guidance, health and safety, employee information, and resources for managers. It’s the one place to find the rules, standards, and processes we all share. 

 

3. Vale 2030 – Our Future Direction as an Organisation 
Here you’ll find updates on the Vale 2030 transformation programme, corporate plan priorities, and the long‑term vision shaping our services. This section connects our daily work with our wider ambitions and future direction.
