Introducing the NEW Hyb Cymraeg - the new home for all things Welsh!
Hyb Cymraeg pulls together all the information about the Council's Welsh translation service, Welsh Language Standards, and opportunities to learn and use Welsh in the workplace, into one, easy to access, online hub:
Hyb Cymraeg

As a Local Authority in Wales, the Welsh language is an important consideration in all of our work.
We, and all public bodies in Wales must adhere to the Welsh language standards, legislation that ensures that the Welsh language is not treated less favourably than English in Wales.
If you are unsure how the standards affect your area of work, the hub details what considerations need to be made for common activities, including communications, events, meetings, recruitment, and more.
Since the legislation came in, lots of work has been undertaken to ensure that our communities and staff can access services in the language of their choice.
To help us on our way, the Council introduced a joint translation service, Billingual Cardiff, with Cardiff Council in 2016. All staff have access to the translation portal and guidance for using it is included on the hub.
The hub also details the many opportunities available to staff for learning Welsh - all of which are free to staff.
Whether you are new to learning, just looking to brush on your skills, or are a fluent Welsh speaker looking to get more use in the workplace, the Work Welsh offer has something for you.
