New Project Zero Highlights: See what your colleagues have been up to!

Since launching the Project Zero Hub, we've continued to build momentum in becoming more environmentally friendly and working with our communities to do the same.

From Council-led action to community-powered change, the hub brings together the inspiring work taking place across the Vale.

Now, we’ve refreshed the hub with a range of new case studies that showcase some of the fantastic progress made in recent months.

The latest updates highlight the range of work happening across the organisation and our communities, including:

Otter on cameraWildlife cameras

We have installed cameras along the River Thaw, capturing footage of otters and other local wildlife, to better monitor endangered and re-introduced species so we can do all we can to protect them and their habitat.

Alleyway transformation

Led by our Placemaking team, with support from local school pupils and artists we transformed an alleyway in Penarth into a clean, and colourful walking route.

Energy efficiency improvements

We’ve made a range of energy efficiency improvements in Council and community facilities, including gyms and community centres to make the day to day running of our venues more economical and sustainable.

Going solar

We have supported residents to go solar through the Solar Together scheme, in partnership with energy experts iChoosr to help lower energy bills for residents and reduce carbon emissions.

What can you do to support Project Zero?

While the Project Zero Hub is great for showcasing our progress, don’t forget about the Project Zero Portal on StaffNet.

It brings together everything you need to support our Project Zero work in your role at the Council.

From training opportunities, and staff rewards, to information on our carbon emissions and key plans and documents, the portal is your go-to resource for all things Project Zero!
