New Regional App Launches to Support Migrant Care Workers

App to Support Migrant Care WorkersWe are proud to announce the launch of a new Cardiff and Vale Social Care App for migrant care workers, led by Steve Davies and Joseph Brookes from our Social Care Workforce Development Team.

The app has been created to support migrant care workers as they settle into life and work across our region and brings together a wide range of trusted information and signposting in one easy-to-access place.

It includes guidance on housing, transport, local services, workplace rights, cultural adaptation, and community support. Developed in response to the challenges many migrant workers face when relocating to the UK, it aims to offer a more consistent and welcoming experience from the very beginning.

This work is a project between the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff Council and forms part of a wider regional commitment to supporting our migrant workforce and improving integration within the care sector, and has been shaped through engagement with Cardiff Council, care providers, and other regional partners.

The content was tested by staff who have moved here from overseas to ensure it reflects real-life needs and experiences.

By offering clear and accessible information, the app helps staff and managers respond to common queries quickly and confidently, without the need to search across multiple documents or websites.

Further information and promotional materials will be shared directly with Care teams soon.

If you would like to know more, or suggest future updates to the app, please contact Steve Davies.
