Volunteer Opportunity: Become a Career Ambassador!

We’re building a bank of Career Ambassadors — passionate team members who are happy to support career development activities in local schools and the wider community.

This can include:

  • Attending jobs fairs

  • Offering career insights and inspiration

  • Supporting mock interviews at schools

  • Helping with CV writing sessions

  • Sharing your experience in your industry

Whether you can help once a year or regularly, we’d love to have you involved!

The event showcases career and study opportunities where Welsh can be used in the workplace.

We welcome colleagues of all roles and Welsh language levels to represent the Vale and talk to students about future opportunities — Welsh speakers are especially encouraged, but non-Welsh speakers are also welcome if they’re happy to discuss career paths.

This is an opportunity to share the important message that their Welsh is valuable, that opportunities to use it do exist! 

If you would love to come but are unsure about setting up the stall, please get in touch! If you have signs, leaflets or any other resources, please bring Welsh copies.   
18th June 2025 9:30 am - 12:30 pm Ysgol Y Deri, Penarth Careers Fair Aged from 14 to 19

 

Due to the variety of needs of the pupils, it would be wonderful if Career Ambassadors could have some hands-on activities to help engage the pupils.
26th June 2025 9:20 am - 3:20 pm St Richard Gwyn, Barry Careers Carousel Year 10

 

Speed-networking type of event informing pupils of careers in your industry/organisation.
8th/9th July 2025 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Cowbridge Comprehensive School Careers Carousel Year 10

 

Talk about careers and include an activity. Choose the date and how many you would like to do.
