Children and Young People Services move to Ty Jenner

As the Dock Office begins its next chapter, we’re delighted to share that our move to Ty Jenner has gone well and we’re finding our feet in our new refurbished space.  

Joining our Early Help, Flying Start and Youth Justice and Early Support teams already based in community locations, we’re excited to have brought our Dock office-based teams closer to our communities.   

Refurbished to include a welcoming reception and thoughtfully designed family room, Ty Jenner enhances our opportunities to work with and alongside those we support. Developed to align with the way we work together today and into the future, with hybrid workspaces, break out rooms, meeting areas and a staff wellbeing room, the ambition has been to create a space that feels welcoming, inclusive and practical, while supporting wellbeing, collaboration and excellent public service. 

Our teams are enjoying navigating our new building and are brimming with ideas about how Ty Jenner can help us to reach out further to those we support.  

Since moving in, we’ve opened up the family room to:

• Create a more relaxed space for meeting with families where we’re working together to find solutions to the challenges they are experiencing.
• Equipped the integrated kitchen space to begin cooking classes with our care leavers and to develop / assess parenting skills with our families.
• Added toys and soft furnishings to offer a child friendly environment that supports children and their parents having family time together. 
• Connections across our teams have increased too and we are seeing the value of being more closely located.

We are keen to develop a culture where anyone can work anywhere in the building and where children, young people and families, colleagues and partners feel welcome.

We can’t thank everyone enough who contributed to the project and for the incredible partnership working that took place. It was a pleasure to be part of such a ‘can do’ approach, focused on our shared goals to improve the services we deliver, and to see everyone’s collaborative efforts coming together. 

I would like to thank our teams too for their patience running up to the move and their positivity since we’ve landed. Ty Jenner is proving to be a great place to be.
