Vale Cinema enters Cinema of the Year Award
25 August 2026
Do you love cinema? Then vote for Penarth Pier Pavilion Cinema in the 2026 Cinema of the year awards!
The British Independent Film Awards aim to celebrate grassroots and independent venues committed to showcasing art and culture to communities across the UK. It is an exciting achievement that the only full-time cinema in the Vale has entered the award, bringing the best range of films to the county. From Welsh-language films to blockbuster new releases, the cinema will always have something for everyone.
The cinema's staff and volunteers are delighted to be a part of the award. Without their hard work and dedication, none of this would have been possible. Cinematic Events Assistant Max Martin said ‘a Cinema of the Year nomination is a huge celebration of what we’ve built together and we’d love your vote to help put Penarth, our community and our extraordinary seaside cinema firmly on the map'.
Use the link here to vote for Penarth Pavilion Cinema to be longlisted for the award. Voting closes on Monday 21 September, so make sure to vote before then.
Keep up to date with screenings and timings for films being shown on the cinema's website.
It would be a great achievement for a venue within the Vale to be recognised, so remember to vote for Penarth Cinema with the chance for it to be named Cinema of the Year 2026!
