Carers Week Celebration Recognises the Role of Families and Care Teams

22 June 2026

Residents, families and staff recently came together at Ty Dewi Sant to mark Carers Week, celebrating the dedication, compassion and support shown by family carers and our care home teams every day.

Following the celebration, we were delighted to receive some positive feedback from the family member of one of our residents, who shared:

"It was so lovely to see the residents, relatives and staff all coming together, socialising, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and a real credit to everyone involved.

"This has been a very difficult and emotional time for our family, but knowing that my mum is being cared for with such kindness, compassion, and genuine love brings me enormous comfort and truly warms my heart.

"There are far too many people to mention individually, but please know that I am incredibly grateful to each and every member of the team. Your dedication, patience, and care do not go unnoticed, and they make such a difference to both the residents and their families.

"Seeing Mum settled, happy, and enjoying herself means more than words can express."

Feedback such as this is especially meaningful because it recognises the difference our staff make every day.

The positive relationships they build with residents and their families are central to delivering person-centred care and support. It reflects the kindness, respect and commitment shown by colleagues across our residential care homes and the positive impact these values have on residents' quality of life.

These are values that are shared right across our organisation too, underpinning the services we deliver and our commitment to putting people first.
