Get Involved with Bike Week 2026!
Bike Week starts today, 8th June 2026, and there are some exciting things coming up for all staff to get involved with:
In partnership with Cycle Solutions we offer staff the Cycle to Work Scheme, a salary sacrifice scheme which allows you to obtain a high-end bike at the fraction of the cost with a maximum value of £4,500, allowing staff to obtain a bike and biking gear to promote a healthier and active lifestyle. Not only is the scheme a great way to boost fitness and promote a healthier lifestyle but it also supports the council’s Project Zero objectives, offering a cleaner mode of transport.
Cycle Solutions are holding two roadshows during bike week this year, one at the Civic Offices on the 10th June between 10:00 and 13:00, and the other at St Cyres/ Ysgol y Deri on the 19th June between 11:00 and 13:00. These roadshows are the perfect way to explore biking options available to you as part of the Cycle to Work Scheme.
Some more exciting news is that we are working with Pedal Power to offer a free cycling session for adults on Saturday the 13th of June, between 10:30 and 13:30 in the CF61 car park, Llantwit Major. Whether you’re an avid cyclist, need a bit of a refresher or a total beginner, everyone is welcome! What better way to build confidence and have fun than an instructor led session!
If e-bikes are more your thing, Walk Wheel Cycle Trust are hosting an informal webinar on all things e-bikes on the 10th June at 13:00, for 40 minutes.
