QuickStart 2026 – Expressions of Interest Now Opening

We are pleased to announce the launch of QuickStart 2026 via CELT+ and Communities for Work Plus, offering departments the opportunity to host placements designed to develop individuals and create pathways into employment within the Council.

Programme Overview

QuickStart 2026 provides:

  • Five funded placements available
  • 6-month placements
  • 25 hours per week, paid at National Living Wage (NLW)
  • Placements for individuals aged 18-24 not in education, employment or training
  • Access to additional funding for individual training and development

Department Requirements

To participate, departments must:

  • Be able to provide a meaningful placement opportunity
  • Have a suitable permanent or fixed-term role available at the end of the placement
  • We are unable to accept EOI if the role post placement is intended to be via agency.

Please note: Applications will not be considered if there is no opportunity for continued employment within the department.

Key Dates

  • Expressions of Interest Open: 1st of June 2026
  • EOI Deadline: 19th of June 2026
  • Application Review: WC 22nd of June 2026

Participant Information Session

  • Monday 29th of June 10:00am – 12pm (May be two slots, depending on interest)
  • Location: The POD
  • Participant Applications Close: 5th of July 2026
  • Applications Shared with Departments: WC 6th of July 2026
  • Departments will be required to arrange interviews directly with participants and inform QuickStart team.
  • Expected Start Date: 20th of July 2026

How to Apply

Departments must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) with a completed JD and PS in English and Welsh via the designated form below by 19th June 2026.
