Vale Success at Bro Radio Community Awards
08 June 2026
We’re pleased to share some fantastic news from the Bro Radio Community Awards, held last Friday evening.
Penarth Pier Pavilion was named winner of the Heritage, Arts and Culture Award, recognising its important contribution to arts, heritage and cultural life in the Vale.
The award was accepted on behalf of the whole team by Leah Staff, Cultural Venue Co-ordinator, in recognition of the work of everyone involved at the Pavilion.
We were also proud to see another Vale service recognised on the night, with a photography exhibition by the Vale Domestic Abuse Service’s Survivor Photography Project at Art Central Gallery being nominated for the Triumph Over Adversity Award.
We’d also like to congratulate Stacey Long, Post-16 Transition Lead at Ysgol y Deri who won Entrepreneur of the Year for her work in helping to launch the Hubbub Shop in Penarth.
The project provides valuable opportunities for students at Ysgol y Deri to gain life skills and work experience in a real-world setting, and is a fantastic example of inclusive enterprise making a real difference in the community.
The awards once again brought together individuals and organisations from across the Vale of Glamorgan to celebrate achievement in community life, business, sport, education and the third sector, with 39 finalists recognised on the night.
Thank you to everyone across Team Vale whose work continues to make a positive difference in our communities!
Llongyfarchiadau pawb!
