Occupational Health are currently planning the 2025/26 Flu Vaccination Programme

Flu is a highly infectious respiratory illness caused by viruses which change every year. It spreads very easily from person to person and is much worse than a bad cold.

Occupational Health is due to start the delivery of this year’s flu vaccinations.

For most healthy people flu is an unpleasant but usually self-limiting disease with recovery generally within a week, however for some there is a particular risk of severe illness: older people, pregnant women, those with underlying disease such as chronic respiratory or cardiac disease and those who are immunosuppressed.

It is also recommended to receive the flu vaccine if you are a main carer of an older or disabled person or have close contacts with an immunocompromised individual.
