Sully Library Welsh Learners win Group of the Year

Sully Welsh LearnersA Welsh language group at Sully Library has been awarded ‘Welsh Group of the Year’ by Aberystwyth University for 2025-26.

The group, Coffi a Chlonc, runs each Thursday morning and is a space for residents to practise their Welsh language skills in a safe and supportive environment.

The award follows the library’s recent celebrations to mark ten years since it became a community-run facility.

Sian Adams, the founder of the group, received the award at Eisteddfod y Garreg Las earlier this month. By recognising this achievement, it has highlighted the Vale as a place which not only champions its bilingual identity but promotes the Welsh language to learners and fluent speakers alike.

A massive llongyfarchiadau to the team at Sully library and all who attend the Coffi a Chlonc group. If you or anybody you know is interested in attending, see the schedule for Welsh learner groups across the Vale for 2026.

Llongyfarchiadau eto!
