Introducing the New #itsaboutme

03 August 2026

How many times have you left a performance review thinking - "I wish I'd remembered to mention that?”

Or found yourself trying to remember everything you've achieved over the last year?

You're not alone.

That's exactly why we've changed #itsaboutme.

Instead of trying to capture a year's worth of conversations in one go, the new approach gives managers and team members one simple place to record achievements, objectives, feedback and actions as they happen.

Less remembering. Less paperwork. More meaningful conversations.

It's Not About Completing a Form

pexels-cottonbro-5990156The conversation has always been the most important part of #itsaboutme.

The new approach simply makes it easier to keep those conversations going throughout the year.

Whether it's agreeing a new objective, recognising a success, discussing development or recording the outcome of a one to one, your #itsaboutme Task grows alongside you.

Think of it as a living record rather than an annual review.

What's Changed?

The biggest difference is that you're now in control.

Previous versions of #itsaboutme encouraged regular conversations, but the system largely decided when things happened through reminders and deadlines.

Now it's up to managers and team members to decide what conversations they need, when they happen and what they want to record.

The technology is there to support great conversations, not dictate when they happen.

What's In It for Me?

Using #itsaboutme throughout the year means you'll always have one place to:

  • Keep track of achievements
  • Agree and review objectives
  • Capture actions before they're forgotten
  • Record feedback and development conversations
  • Look back at previous discussions
  • See how you've progressed over time

No more trying to remember everything twelve months later.

Getting Started

Your first step is simply to have a conversation.

Together, reflect on the last 12 months, celebrate achievements, discuss any challenges and agree your immediate priorities and objectives.

This first conversation, and the creation of your #itsaboutme Task, should take place by 31 October 2026.

Managers should also decide who creates the Task.

Some colleagues will enjoy managing their own, while others may appreciate their manager setting it up. Neither approach is better. Choose what works best for your team.

From there, use the Task whenever it's useful. One to one chats. Feedback. Development discussions. Changes in priorities. It's there whenever you need it.

Start with the Guidance

We've created a series of short videos and step by step guides for both managers and team members.

They're designed to answer the questions you're most likely to have and show you some really useful features that will help you get the most from #itsaboutme.

Access the guidance and resources here.

One Last Thing...

This is a transition year - please don't worry about getting everything perfect and have a go.

Watch the short videos, try the different features and see what works for you.

In fact, we're expecting to learn just as much as you do this year. Your feedback will help us continue improving #itsaboutme so it becomes something that's genuinely useful, rather than just another process.

Because that's what #itsaboutme is really about.

Helping people have better conversations, more often.
