Registration Team in Full Swing During Peak Wedding Season

While some services may experience a quieter period during the summer months, it's quite the opposite for the Registration Service.

Our team is currently entering the busiest part of the wedding season, with registrars attending ceremonies across the Vale of Glamorgan every week.

Made up of office-based staff and relief registrars, the team works at a wide range of approved venues, including Rosedew Farm in Llantwit Major, Hensol Castle and Penarth Pier Pavilion, helping couples celebrate one of the most important days of their lives.

Many ceremonies are booked up to two years in advance and are carefully coordinated by the Ceremonies Team, from the initial enquiry through to the wedding day itself.

On the day, two members of the Registration Team attend each ceremony to conduct the proceedings and ensure everything runs smoothly.

The team's professionalism, warmth and attention to detail are regularly recognised by couples and their families. Feedback is consistently excellent, reflecting the care and dedication shown by registrars at every ceremony.

One couple, Oliver and Lauren Rees, said: "We will forever be grateful that we were married by the very best registrars in Wales (& beyond!!). Thank you for making this special for us. We will forever remember this special day."

Lyndon Walker, Father of the Bride, shared: "I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and friendliness to us all. Please pass on my thanks to them. I would give them a reference any time. The whole day was superb and it was started off by two outstanding ladies. Thank you."

Another couple - Mr and Mrs Williams-Margetson - commented: “Both ladies were so delightful and made my partner and I feel completely at ease whilst keeping the running of the service so smooth. We couldn't have asked for better. They were both so kind to us, a young nervous couple, and we couldn't be more grateful.”

However, not all ceremonies are celebrations in the traditional sense. Some are deeply emotional occasions that require compassion, professionalism and sensitivity.

The team regularly supports Registrar General's Licence weddings, including ceremonies conducted at the bedside of individuals approaching the end of their lives. Over the past year, registrars have attended several ceremonies at Marie Curie Hospice, helping to fulfil a person's final wish to marry.

Whether they are celebrating new beginnings or helping families create precious memories during difficult times, the Registration Service considers it a privilege to be part of such significant moments in people's lives.
