International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia

We are pleased to invite staff to join our upcoming IDAHOBIT event taking place on Wednesday 20 May.

What is IDAHOBIT?

IDAHOBIT2026-theme-EnglishIDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia) is celebrated annually on 17 May and is a global initiative that raises awareness of the discrimination, violence, and challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ communities around the world.

This year’s IDAHOBIT theme is: At The Heart Of Democracy

This event is being delivered jointly with Cardiff Council’s LGBTQ+ Staff Network and will feature a range of guest speakers sharing their experiences, insights, and perspectives on supporting LGBTQ+ inclusion.

The event will take place on Wednesday 20th May on Microsoft Teams from 12pm - 1pm where guests can listen to a range of Speakers from Stonewall Cymru, MicroRainbow to Glitter Cymru to talk about why this day is so important and the actions we can all take to support LGBTQ+ people.

Pride Month

There will be no shortage of opportunities to get involved in Pride month once again this year in June – including Pride Cymru weekend in Cardiff.

There will be a Pride Cymru Breakfast meet-up at Cardiff Central library on 13/06/26 between 9am – 10:30am.

It’s an open event where people can join up for coffee/snacks before heading over to the parade march at 10:30am.

GLAM

GLAM is a staff network of LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies that, works to have a positive impact for LGBTQ+ colleagues in the workplace. 

GLAM aims to raise overall awareness and visibility of its work and provides a social and supportive environment for all.
