Timmy - the Cartref Porthceri Cat – Has Passed Away

26 October 2026

Timmy - the Cartref Porthceri house cat - sadly passed away on the 20th of October 2026.

He was born in June 2009, and lived to a ripe old age considering he had a difficult start, and had numerous fights to defend his home Cartref Porthceri from other animals, including other cats, squirrels, dogs, and foxes to name a few.

Timmy was abandoned by his owners at a very young age, and he wisely adopted Cartref Porthceri as his home, where over the years he has brought immense joy to residents and staff alike.

He was known and loved by the wider community too. People would regularly see him sunbathing in the car park, and they invested in his wellbeing by bringing Timmy treats when out on their walks, or just stopping by to give him some much-appreciated fuss.

A big thank you to everyone who helped care for him, especially during the last few weeks, when he needed daily medication and encouragement to eat. Furthermore, we want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has so generously donated to the ‘Timmy fund’ over the years - which helped pay for countless trips to the vet for treatment.

Timmy will be terribly missed, he was a constant presence at Cartref Porthceri, but those who knew him were also able to witness the positive impact he had on the wellbeing of the residents.

Rest in Peace Timmy.
