The Country park opened to the public in 1978 and gained Local Nature Reserve status in May 2013. Today Cosmeston Lakes Country Park is a haven for local wildlife.

Bird Hide available overlooking the western lake. The hide is open 24hrs free of charge
Three small BBQ units catering for up to 30 people and a larger BBQ catering for up to 100 people. There are picnic tables and benches found throughout the country park for your use, please ensure disposable BBQ units are not placed on the tables.
Charges: £19 small BBQ, £36 large BBQ, plus £20 deposit.
Horse riding is permitted along the mile road bridle way, however, if you wish to ride on the main paths round the East and West lakes you will have to purchase a permit at £20 per year available from reception.
An adventure playground, located on the opposite side of the lake from the car park, has a range of climbing equipment, swings, slides and a boat. Dogs are not permitted within the adventure playground.
