As a major service provider and employer within the community,
the Council has a significant part to play in eliminating
disadvantages experienced by some people and groups, and a duty to
promote equality of opportunity. We aim to provide accessible
services, and to create a workforce that reflects the diverse
community that the Council serves.
The purpose of the Equal
Opportunities Policy is to set out our commitment to promoting
equality of opportunity and eliminating discrimination in the
activities and management of the organisation. It includes access
to services, employment, information, premises and facilities.
