No thank you
  • Packaging of any kind
  • Liquids such as milk. You may pour small amounts of liquid food or drinks down the sink, ideally alongside a small amount of water to ensure the waste runs away easily, without causing blockages
  • Liquid oils or fats. Please take these items to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre in a suitable container
  • Any material that’s not food waste

If you need to get rid of any fats that are solid or only part-liquid, please put these in your black bags.

Please remember:

  • When you’re about to run out of food waste liners for your kitchen caddy, just tie one around your outdoor caddy handle on your collection day, and our crews will place a roll of bags alongside it if they have any in stock on the vehicle. The best way to collect caddy liners is from your local library or the Civic offices main reception desk in Barry.

windfall fruitWindfall Fruit Recycling

Place waste fruit from fruit trees in your food waste containers for collection where possible.

If there is too much to fit in your food waste caddy, you can place windfall fruit in your garden waste bags if you have signed up for chargeable garden waste collections.

Please do not overfill your bags as they will become too heavy for the crews to lift.
