Garden Waste

Annual garden waste collection subscriptions are now available at an early bird price.

 

If you’d like us to collect garden waste from your home, you can sign up for a garden waste collection subscription. 

 

If you already subscribe to the service, your subscription will not automatically renew for the 2026/27 service. Please subscribe again using your existing account if you wish to continue having your garden waste collected. 

 

 

If you’d prefer not to subscribe to our garden waste collection service, you can still take your garden waste to your local household waste recycling centre for free or compost it at home.

 

Annual subscriptions 

Annual garden waste collection subscriptions are now open for 2026/27.

  

If you sign up for an annual subscription, we will collect your garden waste every two weeks between  02 March 2026 and  27 November 2026. 

 

You will be able to book winter garden waste collections as you need them between 30 November 2026 and 26 February 2027. Collections will not be available for two weeks over the Christmas period. 

 

Residents who sign up before 01 April 2026 can subscribe at our early bird rate, which keeps prices at the 2025/26 standard subscription fee.

  • £41 for up to 8 bags per fortnight 
  • £59 for more than 8 bags per fortnight 

The Council has reviewed its fees and charges for 2026/27 and prices for garden waste subscriptions will increase from 01 April 2026 to £45 for up to 8 bags and £65 for more than 8 bags.

 

Early bird prices are based on the Council’s standard 2025/26 subscription fee, not any temporary offers or discounts that ran during that year.

 

Don’t want to subscribe for a full year? You will have the option to subscribe to a half-year service from August.

If you have previously subscribed to our garden waste service, please use your existing account to subscribe for 2026/27 collections. Please do not create a new account. 

 

Garden waste subscriptions are registered to individual accounts. If you want to pay for someone else's subscription, they must create an account in their own name. If you have any issues, please call: 01446 729566.

Winter Book and Collect Service

Current subscribers of the 2025/26 service will receive their last scheduled fortnightly garden waste collections between 17 and 29 November 2025.

 

From 17 November 2025/26 subscribers will be able to book a collection through the winter book and collect service which will run from 01 December 2025 to 27 February 2026.

  • Soil, stones or logs. Please take these items to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre
  • Invasive weeds such as Japanese knotweed. Please arrange for a specialist contractor to collect this and dispose of it safely
  • Any garden furniture, whether plastic or wooden. Please take these items to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre
  • Animal or human faeces. Please put these items in your black bags
  • Pet bedding used by meat-eating animals. Please put these items in your black bags
