  • My recycling bags or containers have gone missing. What should I do?
If your recycling bags or containers are lost, you can collect replacements from a local library or the Civic Offices.

  • I’ve moved into a new home and don’t have any recycling bags or containers. What should I do?

If you’ve moved and didn’t bring your existing Vale recycling bags and containers with you and there are no bags and containers at your new home, you can collect them from a local library or the Civic Offices.

Some community-run libraries may not have the full range available. Check the stock list above before you travel.

  • I have a baby or use hygiene products (for example, stoma bags or nappies). I don’t want to leave my black bag on the kerbside. What can I do?

If you need a more secure way to present your waste, you can buy a hygiene caddy.

The caddy costs £10 and can be left on the kerbside on your black bag collection day.

  • I can’t collect the recycling bags and containers myself. What can I do?
If you’re unable to collect recycling bags and containers yourself, someone else can collect them on your behalf.
  • I’m not sure which recycling bags and containers I need. Where can I check?

Guidance on what each recycling bag and container is for can be found on our Separated Recycling webpage. There is detailed information about what you can put in each recycling bag and container.

You can also view our Recycling A to Z webpage if you want to check how to dispose of a specific item.

  • I’ve run out of food bags for my kitchen caddy. What do I do?

Tie a bag around the handle of your kerbside caddy on collection day. Our crews will leave a replacement roll if they have stock on the vehicle.

The best way to collect kitchen caddy bags is from your local library or the Civic Office main reception desk.
  • Some weeks I have a lot of recycling. Is there any limit on the number of recycling bags or containers I can put out for collection?

There is no limit on the number of recycling bags and containers you can put out for your weekly collection, there is only a limit on black bag waste.

You can also book a slot at one of our Household Waste Recycling Centres to dispose of your recycling.
