Garden Waste

If you’d like us to collect garden waste from your home, you can sign up for a garden waste collection subscription

If you already subscribe to the service, your subscription will not automatically renew for the 2026/27 service. Please subscribe again using your existing account if you wish to continue having your garden waste collected. 

 

 

If you’d prefer not to subscribe to our garden waste collection service, you can still take your garden waste to your local household waste recycling centre for free or compost it at home.

 

Half year subscription

Half year garden waste collection subscriptions are now open for 2026/27. 

 

If you sign up for a half year subscription, we will collect your garden waste every two weeks between 03 August 2026 and 27 November 2026.

 

You will be able to book winter garden waste collections as you need them between 30 November 2026 and 26 February 2027.

 

Half-year garden waste collection subscriptions starting in August cost:

 

  • £22.50 for up to 8 bags per fortnight 
  • £32.50 for more than 8 bags per fortnight  
  • Annual Subscriptions
    Subcriptions to the half year collection service opened in August 2026. The annual service will re-open in March 2027.

     

     

    If you have already signed up for an annual subscription, we will collect your garden waste every two weeks between 02 March 2026 and 27 November 2026.

     

    You will be able to book winter garden waste collections as you need them between 30 November 2026 and 26 February 2027.

If you have previously subscribed to our garden waste service, please use your existing account to subscribe for 2026/27 collections. Please do not create a new account.

What to put in your garden waste bag

  • Plants and flowers
  • Shrub cuttings and hedge clippings
  • Pet bedding used by non-meat-eating animals, such as hay, straw or wood shavings
No thank you
  • Soil, stones or logs. Please take these items to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre
  • Invasive weeds such as Japanese knotweed. Please arrange for a specialist contractor to collect this and dispose of it safely
  • Any garden furniture, whether plastic or wooden. Please take these items to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre
  • Animal or human faeces. Please put these items in your black bags
  • Pet bedding used by meat-eating animals. Please put these items in your black bags
