Youth Service awarded Gold Quality Mark

This recognises the outstanding provision it offers young people across the County.

Awarded by the Education Workforce Council and Welsh Government, the externally assessed Quality Mark is a national accolade that reflets the highest quality of Youth Work in Wales.

It is structured across three levels—Bronze, Silver, and Gold—each representing an incrementally higher standard of Youth Work.

The Vale Youth Service has now achieved all three, underscoring its dedication to continual improvement and exceptional support for young people.

Cllr Rhiannon Birch, Cabinet Member for Education, Arts and Welsh Language, said: “I’d like to congratulate the Youth Service on this fantastic achievement.

“The recent award of the Gold Quality Mark recognises the team’s excellent youth work and the important role it plays in helping young people develop.

“The service supports a range of individuals in a variety of different ways, consistently reaching the elite standards as this honour proves.”

Having already achieved their Bronze and Silver Quality Mark, the Vale Youth Service team have been committed to improving the standards of their service.

The Vale of Glamorgan is now one of only eight Local Authorities in Wales to attain Gold status.

It recognises the ever-improving standards of youth work services in the Vale, which helps young people to develop important personal and social skills.

The Vale Youth Service provides informal and non-formal opportunities to young people aged 11-25 across the Vale of Glamorgan to support them in achieving their full potential.

Its diverse range of activities includes youth and after-school clubs, accredited courses, and community events, with programs tailored to help participants build essential personal and social skills.

This latest achievement follows an excellent Estyn Inspection report earlier in the year, reaffirming the service’s consistent growth and the positive impact it has on young people in the Vale.
