Vale of Glamorgan commits funds to two support organisations
The Vale of Glamorgan Council has agreed to provide further financial backing - totalling more than £700,000 over the next three years - for two organisations offering support and advice to residents.
Citizens Advice Bureau will receive £154,000 annually, while Glamorgan Voluntary Service (GVS) has been awarded £95,530 per year.
Despite increasing financial pressures, this is the same level of funding each organisation received from the Council in 2018/19.
Citizens Advice Bureau offer a range of services to residents, including information about benefits and tax credits, consumer goods and services, debt management, housing, relationships and family.
Glamorgan Voluntary Services help to improve the quality of life of people and communities by supporting volunteers, volunteering opportunities and voluntary groups.
A one-stop shop for the voluntary sector, GVS champions best practice throughout voluntary organisations so that they excel in delivering their aims and objectives.
They provide information, advice and guidance on all aspects of volunteering for both volunteers and 
recruiting organisations.

“The work of both Citizens Advice Bureau and Glamorgan Voluntary Service help countless people throughout the Vale.
“We hope the significant sums the Council have pledged to them over the next few years will help that important work continue.”
