This project is part of the Council and Welsh Government 21st Century Schools investment programme which will also deliver a brand-new building for Whitmore High School and an expansion for Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg, amongst other projects in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Work is scheduled to start on site in  spring  2020 and will include a three-storey modern school building, performance spaces and excellent sporting facilities including a 4 court sports hall, all-weather hockey floodlit pitch, four games courts and grassed football and rugby pitches.

Bouygues Construction UK have been appointed to build the new school on the existing school site. The project timetable will see staff and pupils move in to the new building in October 2021 with the project completed in July 2022.

Trevor Baker, Head of Strategy, Community Learning and Resources, said:

“I’m delighted to see this project progressing to the next stage. This programme of work will see over £30m invested in developing a bespoke, brand new school building fit for 21st century learning which will benefit pupils, staff and the wider community.”
