Works set to continue at Weycock Cross and surrounding areas

Whilst the new road along Five Mile Lane is now open, some traffic management will remain around Weycock Cross as Welsh Water continues to undertake essential work in the area.

Work along Port Road West, toward Rhoose, St. Athan and Llantwit Major, has now been completed, but cones and other traffic controlling measures will remain in place until temporary road studs are installed to mark out the various lanes.

Until this work is complete, there will only be one lane, rather than two, available when travelling eastwards towards Barry from Rhoose. However, with two lanes of the roundabout in use it is expected that traffic will move more freely.

It is hoped the traffic lanes can be temporarily marked out before Christmas.

There is work to be completed by Welsh Water along both Pontypridd Road and Five Mile Lane toward the Hawking Centre. This is a continuation of the work currently taking place along Pontypridd road.
Welsh Water will be removing the traffic management associated with this on December 20 for the Christmas break.

In the new year, further traffic management measures will be in place to enable Welsh Water to continue their work.

The exact extent of these arrangements is still being discussed by the Council and further information will be made available early next year.

Work currently taking place along Five Mile Lane will continue in the new year between 7pm and 7am.
