The evening was attended by the Mayor, The Leader and Cabinet member for Regeneration and Planning, Councillor Jonathan Bird. The event was also attended by Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Building Control Team and the sponsors of the event.

“The nominations in every category were of the very highest quality and I congratulate all the winners who will now have the chance to compete against the winners from 13 other councils in South Wales in the South Wales Building Excellence awards 2019 which will be held at the Vale of Glamorgan Hotel and Spa Resort, Hensol on the 12th April 2019. I am also hopeful that some of these schemes will go forward to the Building Excellence award national finals, which will be held in London in 2019. The awards have shown the quality of work that is being undertaken throughout the Vale of Glamorgan and we are proud to be rewarding and encouraging quality in the construction industry. Our thanks must also go out to the sponsors, who have enabled the event to be firmly placed in the annual diary - Nina Estate Agents, The Glamorgan Gem, The Vale Resort, Vale Consultancy, ACD Skip and Recycling, Ivorfire and Jewsons along with Cromar.”

The evening also raised a massive £670 on the night for the Mayor's Foundation Grant Fund and the NSPCC.
