Art Central Gallery is currently home to exhibition ‘A Year in the Life of Barry Town’, by local Barry photographer Kevin Moore.

The outgoing Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, Cllr Leighton Rowlands attended the official Photograph from exhibitionopening event, welcoming guests to the gallery and exhibition.

There, he spoke about the artist and the work exhibited. He said: “We are delighted to be hosting this thought provoking exhibition created by Kevin…

“Each image carries its own story, some happy, courageous, sad and much more… leaving a lasting legacy for today and for our future generations.”

The nostalgic photographs capture the daily lives of people engaging in their work, relaxing, at leisure, learning and enjoying.

They reflect on the diversity of the community whilst reminiscing over familiar faces, people, places and life in general in the town of Barry.

The exhibition coincides with Dementia Action Week(20 -26 May), for which events will take place across the Vale.

A Year in the Life

The aim of Dementia Action Week is to create a community which is supportive and inclusive of
