Barry Island beach huts 2 (1)

The colourful beach huts sit either side of the climbing wall on the eastern promenade. They provide visitors with a base for the day, a place to change and somewhere to store possessions – as well as offering stretching views across Whitmore Bay.

The small huts have electricity sockets inside and the large ones also have access to running water.
There will be 6 large huts and 6 small huts available to rent for the year, with the rental agreement commencing April 01, 2020 – March 31, 2021.

“Since building the beach huts, they’ve been a real success and are in high demand.

“It’s brilliant that residents will have the opportunity to make use of them throughout the year, and I’m sure they’ll benefit even more once summer arrives. I’d encourage all to register their interest.” - Cabinet Member for Education and Regeneration, Cllr Lis Burnett.

The closing date for expressing interest is Friday, March 06 at 12:00 noon.

To register their interest, residents will need to contact C1V on 01446 700111. The Council is unable to accept requests for commercial use.

If interest exceeds the number of huts available, then the Council will conduct a draw that will take place during the week commencing March 09, 2020.

The proposed charge for large huts is £750.00 per annum, and £550.00 for a small hut for the 2020/21 season. This proposal is subject to Cabinet approval.
