Since the temporary closure of day services since March 18, support staff from both services have successfully coordinated a responsive service for their clients.

Employees Linda Ruston, Faye Harding and Jules Hiles, along with several other support staff, pulled together to arrange home and welfare visits and carer and respite support for their regular service users.

As part of this, the team were on hand to help with personal care, shopping calls, essential domestic chores, repairs, falls assistance, GP visits, prescription collections and deliveries, weekly telephone links, and and a hot meals delivery service.

The day service staff also established a PPE Delivery Hub, helping to keep staff and residents safe during the outbreak.

Staff at New Horizons and Rondel House both deliver support those with physical disability, frailty and dementia. Adults attend the day service to benefit from social contact and stimulation delivered via a range of activities and exercise programmes.
