Next stage of Replacement Local Development Plan agreed

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has announced that the next stage of the Replacement Local Development Plan has been approved by the Welsh Government.

Both the Review Report and Delivery Agreement were subject to a public consultation earlier this year to obtain the views of stakeholders. 
The consultation responses and proposed changes to both documents were considered and approved by Cabinet and Full Council.


The amended documents were subsequently submitted to the Welsh Government and approved in May.


To ensure Local Development Plans (LDPs) are kept up to date, local planning authorities are required to review their Plan at least every 4 years from the date of adoption.


The Council will shortly be commencing the ‘call for candidate sites’. This enables parties to propose sites for a range of uses such as housing, employment and recreation. It will then be for the Council to assess each site and determine if they are suitable for inclusion in the new Plan.
