Family Information Service Launches Summer Holiday Programme 2025
The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Family Information Service has announced the launch of its Summer Holiday Programme 2025, offering a wide range of free and low-cost activities for families and young people throughout the school holidays.
Working in partnership with organisations across the Vale, the Council’s Family Information Service (FIS) team have put together a calendar of events suitable for children and young people up to the age of 25, alongside a range of family activities.
Vale Libraries, the Youth Service, Flying Start, and the Healthy Living Play and Sports Teams are all offering several free events for children and teens to participate in during the school holidays - including free or low-cost craft and story events across all Vale libraries, as well as free multi-sport sessions, playschemes and play rangers across the county.
The Youth Service offers a variety of youth clubs and sports camps to keep young people engaged over the summer. Additional activities - such as drama and theatre sessions, dance and gym classes, animal encounters, cinema screenings, swimming lessons, and more - are also available for a fee.
Cllr Eddie Williams, Cabinet Member for Social Care and Health, said: "Providing a wide range of low-cost and free activities is vital for families, especially during the summer holidays when budgets can be tight. These opportunities ensure that all children and young people in the Vale have access to fun and enriching experiences without financial barriers."
Cllr Gwyn John, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport and Well-being, said: "Summer activities like sports camps, creative sessions, and outdoor events are not only enjoyable but also essential for children’s wellbeing. This programme of activities will encourage young people to get outdoors, stay active, and build positive social connections - which benefits their physical and mental health."
The Summer Holiday Programme 2025 kicks off on Saturday 19 July and will run throughout summer until 31 August.
You can find the full programme of events on the FIS website here.
The Family Information Service (FIS) can also help you find childcare, help with childcare costs, inclusive activities and services for children and young people in the Vale.
