Penarth nextbike scheme 

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has set aside funding the pilot the first fully electric bike share scheme in Wales.

Following the success of the nextbike cycle hire scheme in Cardiff, we have received requests for the implementation of a similar system in the Vale. In response to this, a pilot scheme will be installed in Penarth. Nextbike will install 50 electric bikes across several docking stations.

 

After public consultation, we have identified the following as potential locations:

 

  • Penarth Town Centre
  • Cogan Train Centre
  • Penarth Train Station
  • Llandough Hospital
  • The Esplanade / Pier
  • Cosmeston Country Park
  • Cardiff Bay Barrage 
  • Pont-y-Werin Bridge
