Cosmeston Play Area Upgrade

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is investing £240,000 in improving the play area at Cosmeston Country Park

This consultation ran from Monday 16 March - Friday 17 April. We have now closed the survey and will consider the responses from local residents before finalising the plans for the upgraded play area.

The play area in Cosmeston Country Park is in a poor condition. Much of the existing equipment is in a very poor condition and needs upgrading urgently.

The Council is proposing to:

  • Remove the existing play equipment and surfacing (the Viper swing unit may be kept)

  • Design a new play area with a Medieval theme using a range of equipment made from timber and metal suitable for children aged between 2 - 12 years old

  • Install new seats, picnic tables and bins

  • Install new fencing around the play area

  • Plant new trees, shrubs or a wildflower meadow

  • Resurface the path leading to the play area

  • Include a base for small refreshment facilities

We would like to capture feedback from local residents and visitors to the Park about the above proposals. We also invite your ideas and suggestions about the equipment and theme of the play area. The consultation drawing provides examples of work that could be undertaken.
