Local Housing Needs Surveys

As the Rural Housing Enabler, my role is to work with the Housing Strategy Coordinator, the wider housing team, Housing Associations, and rural communities to enable the delivery of affordable housing in the Rural Vale.

Throughout 2026, I will be focussing on conducting Local Housing Needs Surveys in a number of areas within the Vale of Glamorgan. These areas are:

Aberthin
Aberthaw (East)
Colwinston
Corntown
Ewenny
Fferm Goch
Graig Penllyn
Llancarfan
Llandow
Llanmaes
Llysworney
Ogmore by Sea
Pendoylan
Penllyn
Peterston Super Ely
Sigingstone
St Brides Major
St Nicholas
Treoes
Ystradowen

There will be two seperate surveys in order to receive as wide a response from a varied demographic. If we can establish an accurate housing need in an area, then we can take this further.

Residents within these areas will complete a survey to establish affordable housing need, and these will be delivered via post.

Non Residents of the areas specified above will be able to complete the online form below, and there will be forms in specific sites around the Vale of Glamorgan.
