Coastal Car Parking Charges
The Vale of Glamorgan Council is responsible for collecting charges in a number of coastal car parks
Daily charges apply to the following car parks; although vehicles displaying a valid disability badge may park for free. These charges are applicable all year*, Monday to Sunday, including Bank Holidays.
Coastal Parking Permits
Costal permits are available to purchase at:

Coastal Parking Permits are valid for use at any chargeable Vale of Glamorgan Council run resort car park.

Blue badge holders
Blue badge holders will need to apply for a free virtual permit.
The virtual permit will allow one car registration number per blue badge to be added to the software for Ogmore-by-Sea only. This will alert the bollard to lower automatically upon recognising vehicle registration plate.
Any blue badge holders in an unregistered vehicle can use to intercom to exit by pressing 1 then the call button. Unregistered blue badge holders will need their blue badge with them as proof to exit free of charge.

Motorcycles
Solo motorcycles are currently free in all our coastal car parks.

No bus or coach access is permitted at Rivermouth car park due to width and length restrictions.
Payment by Cash and Card
All Pay and Display Meters within the Vale of Glamorgan accept cash and card payment including contactless.
We will shortly be introducing google and apple pay to the machines but currently they do not accept those forms of payment.
Please ensure that you insert the correct change as the parking meters do not give change.

Pay by Phone
The app can be downloaded from www.paybyphone.co.uk, Google Play and the Apple App Store. The app includes a map feature that allows drivers to locate parking before they leave for their destination.
Drivers can pin their vehicle location onto the map once they have parked and the nearby parking feature instantly provides the closest PayByPhone parking location number.
Penalty Notices
Vehicles must be parked in accordance with the current parking order.
A copy is available for inspection on request. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions as outlined below could result in:
- a Penalty Charge Notice (up to £70) or a Notice of Intended Prosecution being issued by the Council's Civil Enforcement Officers or
- a Fixed Penalty Notice being issued by South Wales Police.
Terms and Conditions
A Penalty Charge Notice, Notice of Intended Prosecution or a Fixed Penalty Notice could be issued if:
a) A vehicle is parked without properly displaying a valid pay and display ticket/permit or Blue Badge.
b) A vehicle is not parked within a marked parking bay or is causing an obstruction.
c) A vehicle is parked in a bay marked disabled or an area designated as being for disabled parking without displaying a valid Blue Badge.
Drivers must also observe the following:
- Tickets are not transferable.
- A valid ticket must be purchased and left inside the vehicle such that the date of purchase, expiry time and expiry date remain clearly visible to enforcement officers when viewed from outside the front of the vehicle.
- Please check that your ticket is properly displayed before you leave your vehicle.
- The driver is responsible for ensuring that the ticket remains on display in this manner for the duration that the vehicle is parked within the Parking Place.
- All tickets purchased are valid for the day of issue only.
- There shall be no overnight camping (either in a tent or campervan), no cooking and no lighting of fires/barbeques at any time.
- No vehicles are to be parked beyond the lines of stones present within the Rivermouth car park.
- Failure to comply with the above could result in a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) or Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP) being issued by the Vale of Glamorgan Council's Civil Enforcement Officers or a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) being issued by South Wales Police.
The Council, its servants and agents shall not be responsible for any loss or damage, howsoever caused to any person or vehicle, including its accessories and contents whilst entering, within or leaving the car park.
