Caravans Parked on the Highway

The Highways Act grants wide powers to local authorities, concerning anything deposited on the highway, that constitutes an obstruction or a nuisance.

Clearly we cannot address anything parked on private drives. Most complaints that we therefore receive, relate to caravans and trailers. Abandoned vehicles are dealt with under separate legislation by our cleansing department.
