Report of the Managing Director

 

Use of the Managing Director's Emergency Powers

 

Purpose of the Report

  1. To notify Council of the exercising of Emergency Powers in respect of Council (as opposed to Executive) functions by the Managing Director since the last report in June 2017.

Recommendation

T H A T the report be noted.

Reason for the Recommendation

To inform Council.

Background

  1. The Emergency Powers procedure was approved by Minute No. 95, 2012/13.

Relevant Issues and Options

  1. To note the following:

         (a)    To approve the request of the Leader of the Labour Group that Councillor Mark Wilson replace Councillor Rhiannon Birch on the Community Liaison Committee with immediate effect and until further notice.

         (b)    To approve the consultation process in respect of the introduction of a Public Space Protection Order, made under Section 59 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 to replace the Orders made under the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 in certain designated named areas.
