Development of new Resource Recovery Facility at Atlantic Trading Estate

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is looking to progress a planning application for the ‘construction of a Resource Recovery Facility including associated works’ on vacant land at Atlantic Trading Estate.

Atlantic Trading Estate Site Location Picture

The land is within the industrial estate that is allocated in the Adopted Local Development Plan (LDP) for employment uses including B1, B2, B8 of the use classes order and as suitable location for the provision of sustainable waste management facilities.

The proposal in planning terms is classified as a ‘major development’. As such, there is a requirement to undertake a formal pre-application consultation with statutory consultees and the local community prior to submission of the application to the Local Planning Authority.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Neighbourhood Services and Transport Department are undertaking the pre-application consultation in accordance with the requirements set out in Part 1A of the Town & Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Wales) Order 2012.

All relevant draft drawings, reports and supplementary supporting documents are made available for inspection using the links below:

A site notice and letters have been posted to neighbouring properties, landowners and local councillors regarding the proposed development. This notifies them of the pre-application consultation process, and offers guidance on how to give their comments and access the above materials.

Hard copies of the proposal are available at the Docks Offices, Barry which are open between;

Monday to Thursday : 08:30 - 17:00

Friday : 08:30 - 16:30

Please note that the Dock Offices are closed on weekends.
