You will be notified of the decision as follows, If your child was born between:

 

1 September 2022 - 31 August 2023 - They will start nursery in September 2026. Notification will be posted on 28th May 2026

 

1 September 2023 - 31 December 2023 - They will start nursery in January 2027. Notification will be posted on 23rd October 2026

 

1 January 2024 - 31 March 2024 - They will start nursery after Easter 2027. Notification will be posted on 15th January 2027

 

Nursery 2025-26 

 

Nursery 2025-26 Late Application

  • Closing Date: 17th March 2025
  • Offer Date: The offer date for your child will depend upon the term in which they begin Nursery, please see below:

You will be notified of the decision as follows, If your child was born between:

 

1 September 2021 - 31 August 2022 - They will start nursery in September 2025. Notification will be posted on 16th May 2025

 

1 September 2022 - 31 December 2022 - They will start nursery in January 2026. Notification will be posted on 24th October 2025

 

1 January 2023 - 31 March 2023 - They will start nursery after Easter 2026. Notification will be posted on 16th January 2026

 

If you are submitting a late application, you may not receive your notification email until after the published allocation date, this is due to processing continuing to take place after this date.

Please apply on time. You can view important dates during the application process for a school place​ below. If you miss the closing date you cannot make a late application online. You will need to complete a late application form on paper. Missing the application deadline could significantly affect your chance of getting the place you want.

 

Late applications will not be considered during the initial round of allocations on the publicised offer date. Many schools will be fully subscribed after the first round, so it is important to submit your application on time to have the best chance of securing a place at your preferred school. Following the first round of allocations, all late applications received will be considered along with any children on the waiting list.

 

 Childcare Offer for Wales in the Vale of Glamorgan

 

The Childcare Offer provides funded childcare, which is available to students in Further and Higher Education and eligible working parents of 3-4 year olds.  

 

Funded childcare can start from the term after your child’s 3rd birthday and ends just before your child enters full-time education.  

 

The Childcare Offer provides funded childcare for 48 weeks per year. 

 

In term time, you could receive up to 17.5 hours per week of funded childcare in registered childcare provision. 

 

In the school holidays, you could receive up to 30 hours per week of funded childcare in registered childcare provision, allocated at three holiday weeks per term.

 

Please note: minimum and maximum earnings criteria apply.  Further and Higher education courses must meet eligibility criteria.
