Restrictions Business Fund Discretionary Grant

For businesses that are not liable for Business Rates (NDR) or benefit from Small Business Rates Relief 

 

A discretionary grant of £2,000 is available to assist businesses that have:

  • Been forced or required to close as a result of the national restrictions that were introduced during December 2020

  • OR are able to demonstrate that the latest restrictions put in place will result in at least a 40% reduction in their estimated turnover during the December 2020 to January 2021 period as compared to the December 2019 to January 2020 period (or September 2020 turnover if not trading in December 2019)

 You are NOT eligible for this grant if: 

  • You are eligible for, or have received, the Restrictions Business Fund NDR Grant from your Local Authority

  • You are eligible for, or have received, the ERF Sector Specific Grant 

  • If the business generates less than 50% of your income. The business must be your main source of income.

 

 

IMPORTANT

  • Applications will be dealt with on a first come first served basis. This may lead to applications not being appraised after they have been submitted if the fund is fully committed.

  • There are no automatic payments - you will need to complete the application form after reading the guidance notes

  • If you made an application under the first phase - hospitality and supply chain then you are not eligible to apply again.  The second phase has been reopened to include businesses impacted because of the National Lockdown on 19 December.

  • Ensure you are applying to the correct local authority

  • Please allow 30 working days for your application to be processed

  • Businesses cannot apply for the NDR grant and the Discretionary Grant.

Owing to essential maintenance on the Vale of Glamorgan’s email system on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 January the application forms need to be taken offline while the work is completed to avoid the potential for lost submissions.


Applications will be paused on 15 January at 5.00pm and available online again from Monday 18 January at 9.00am.

Applications for the Restrictions Business Fund Discretionary Grant will be processed within 30 working days from date of receipt for applications that have been completed correctly with supporting information. This time frame is set by Welsh Government for all local authorities in Wales.

 

Please do not contact us within the 30 working day period for the status on your application, your reference number is confirmation that we have received your application and we will process it as quickly as we can.  

 

When submitting your application you will be required to complete all the requested fields together with the required evidence documents. Please refer to the guidance for more detail. Scanned documents and photos are acceptable forms of evidence.
