Council Tax Reduction

If you're on a low income, you may be eligible for a Council Tax Reduction

Universal Credit

If you’re on a low income, out of work or you cannot work you may be able to get help with your living costs. 

Carer's Allowance

You could get a weekly allowance if you care for someone at least 35 hours a week and they get certain benefits. 

Winter Fuel Allowance

If you were born before 22 September 1959 you could get support to help you pay your heating bills. Most people get the Winter Fuel Payment automatically if they’re eligible

Council Tax Discounts

If you are one adult living in a property you may may be eligible for a 25% discount. This is not income related.

Pension Credit

You may be entitled to claim Pension Credit if you are over state pension age. The payment also unlocks a range of other entitlements for those who qualify.

Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP)

Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs) provide an emergency payment to help with rent or housing costs. 

Discretionary Assistance Fund (DAF)

The Discretionary Assistance Fund provides 2 types of grants. A grant to help pay for essential costs, such as food, gas, electricity or emergency travel. A grant to help you or someone you care for live independently in their home.

Housing Benefit

If you’re on a low income, you may be able to get help with your rent. Find out if you are eligible to claim Housing Benefit.

Funeral Expenses Payment

You could get a Funeral Expenses Payment (also called a Funeral Payment) if you get certain benefits and need help to pay for a funeral you’re arranging.

Bereavement Support Payment

You may be able to get Bereavement Support Payment if your partner has died.
