Financial support for childcare providers: local grants and Welsh Government initiatives.

Tax Free Childcare Scheme

Tax-free childcare is a government scheme to help working parents with the cost of childcare. 

 

Eligible parents with children under 12 can get up to £2,000 per child, per year, towards their childcare costs (or up to £4,000 for disabled children under 17).

Additional Funding

If you are thinking of becoming a childminder in the Vale of Glamorgan, you may be entitled to funding to support your training and set up of cost, should you meet certain criteria.

Childcare and Play Grants

The Vale of Glamorgan Early Years team have secured funding to support the sustainability of childcare settings and to establish new childcare places.

 

Applying for funding: 

For sustainability of your setting, you will be required to demonstrate ongoing significant financial loss / significant financial loss.

 

For creation of new childcare places, you will be required to demonstrate the need in the area – do you have waiting lists, demand from parents, Childcare Sufficiency Assessment findings etc.

 

The panel plan to meet on the first Friday of every month and will notify you of their decision within 2 weeks of this. 

 

 

Please read the information within the application carefully before making an application and returning.   Incomplete applications will be rejected.
