Accounts and documents relating to council finance

The maintenance and integrity of Vale of Glamorgan’s website is the responsibility of the Council; the work carried out by auditors does not involve consideration of these matters and accordingly auditors accept no responsibility for any changes that may have occurred to the financial statements since they were initially presented on the website.

Charges from Suppliers

From September 2010 the Council has demonstrated its commitment to openness and transparency by publishing on its website details of the Council’s spending above £500 on all goods and services.

The reports below lists the Council’s spending with suppliers where the charge to a specific cost centre is greater than or equal to £500 (excluding VAT). In some cases we have had to respect information that could be seen as sensitive and some payments have been excluded for example, payments for fostering and adoption.

Employee Pay

The Council has a statutory requirement under the Localism Act 2011 to prepare a pay policy statement. The Policy was produced on the basis of statutory guidance, and with advice from the Welsh Local Government Association, and will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis in accordance with the requirements of the Act. The Policy will provide a framework for ensuring that employees are rewarded fairly and objectively in accordance with the service needs of the Council and that there was openness and transparency in relation to the process.
