Sheltered Schemes

Sheltered housing is designed with the needs of older people in mind and is generally only available to those over the age of 60.

 

There are five sheltered housing schemes provided by Vale Homes. These are in Barry, Penarth, Dinas Powys, Cowbridge and Llantwit Major.

 

The schemes aim to help people to live independently.

 

Crawshay Court, Llantwit Major

Eagleswell Road, Llantwit Major, South Glamorgan, CF61 2GE

 

Built in 1975, Crawshay Court consists of 34 flats and bungalows. 25 properties are single bedroom flats but there are 9 two-bedroom bungalows. Amenities provided at Crawshay Court include a lounge, communal laundry room, guest facilities, and a garden.

Gwenog Court, Barry

Cwm Talwg, Barry, South Glamorgan, CF62 7QT

 

This property is for residents aged over 60. Built in 1981 in the Cwm Talwg area of Barry, Gwenog Court consists of 85 flats and bungalows: Gwenog Court has a total of 31 one bedroom flats and one Guestroom, Cwm Parc has a total of 20 one bedroom flats, Proctor Close has 17 one bedroom bungalows and 1 two bedroom bungalow, and Peterswell Road has a total of 16 one bedroom flats. Amenities provided at Gwenog Court include a lounge, an I.T. room, communal laundry rooms, and guest facilities.

Built in 1973, Redlands House consists of 86 flats and bungalows. Of these, most properties are single bedroom, and there are 5 two-bedroom properties and there are two step down units. Amenities provided at Redlands House include a lounge, communal laundry room, guest facilities, and a garden.
